New sound, new style, still the same loser.

Pharrell vs. Dr. Dre (DreamVerzuz)

Let me start this post off like this:
If you know, you know.

Let me continue with...:
Likely, very few know.

Pharrell is 1/2 of the production superduo The Neptunes. They (Th Nptns) crafted MULTIPLE number ones, won MULTIPLE Grammys, transcended genres (to the point where they introduced sounds to the public)... all with Pharrell being the face and voice of them. When I worked with them, it was clear that Pharrell was the ringleader, not just a Starfucker (or a StarChaser). And it's true. He's a visionary genius. He knows how the SONG is supposed to sound, look, feel... all that. Speaking of sound, The Neptunes established a sort of "plastic" type sound that fit snugly with where mainstream music was at the time.

Contrasted only by Dr. Dre.

Dr. Dre has crafted MULTIPLE number ones, won MULTIPLE Grammys, transcended genres (to the contrast of The Neptunes; you'd have to find it to catch it)... all while he maintained a mystery about him. I'm not gonna get into the whole Simone Marshall/Dr. Dre thing, even though I have evidence that proves one is the other. But to get into that would be to reveal who Eminem... I mean, Pharrell is. Still and all, Dr. Dre has the "industry" Champion Sound. Your record doesn't sound complete if it doesn't have Dre's sonic "stamp of approval".

Sometimes when Dre produces a record, he doesn't get credited IN the song, but in the liner notes. MANY songs have been produced by Dr. Dre that the public don't know about.
You ALWAYS know when The Neptunes produce something.

Seeing as how no one "requests" The Neptunes SOUND (not drums or melody; the overall SOUND of a Neptunes-produced record), I think Dre has an edge. But Dre (nor PharrEm) doesn't drop often at all. There are more Neptune hits in the subconscious of... at least my generation, then there are Dre hits. At the same time, there's Eminem. Dr. Dre Executive Produced just about EVERY Eminell album. The argument is, The Neptunes made more club hits. For that, there's 50 Cent. Then there's the point of the modern climate of music. Dr. Dre kinda has that on lock, with Kendrick Lamar. The Neptunes/Pharrell produce here and there for modern artists, but none have had the impact of KDot.

In the end, I wrap it up like...:
It all comes down to presentation.

And again, this is all just a Dream(Verzuz).

Do they even still do that shit?

"I am... multimedia..."

The title is a quote from a DJ Nick interview back in 2019. So... last year, I went on an #IndependentMediaBlitz. Now, a media blitz is when...
