While you're all on notice about your pending demise, let me share a dream I had with you last night.
Last night, I dreamt that I got picked up from a LA Greyhound by none other than Nipsey Hussle. Apparently, I was expecting Baddie to pick me up, but no, it was Nip. He gave me a pound, laughed at my outfit (but called it fresh) and helped me with my bags into the car. He was bumpin' the joint he did with the Kris Kross sample (Jackson 5, "I Want You Back", but the producer sampled "Jump Jump"). I told him I dug that joint and his "Hard Knock Life" flip. He handed me the AUX and I played "The Gothic Nipsey Hussle". He asked me the title, and I told him. He didn't believe me until he looked at my iPod. He then said "You can't make a grown Crip cry like that, nigga!".
Then we got into it. Not argue. just the overall conversation I always wanted to have with Crips.
I already stay out the streets. I know Bloods, I know Crips, I grew up around Latin Kings in Harlem, I know Vicelords, GDs... but, as I told him, I felt Crips stepped on my toes by claiming 6. To make it clear, I wasn't talking about their Rolling 60s movement. Or the Rolling movement they have in general. I'm talking about... in New York, Crips call themselves 6s. To respond, Bloods call themselves 5. That directly impacts me, because I use numerology. He said he didn't know anything about it, but he respects me for bringing it up. Then we had a LONG conversation where he asked me to read his numbers.
Next thing I know, I'm awake.
I'm now inspired to make an album called Hollywood Residency. A dark, soulful journey through the streets of LA. LA is VERY funky (not odor wise), and where there is no Funk, there is Elektro. I hope the Hamilton, Charles collection captures that vibe.
Expect a new Enjetic/CH project in the near future. And if CYoung can pull it together, another 3rd Eye Magic is in the works. I'm taking my time with every joint I make. Giving y'all RAW QUALITY. Stay tuned.
