Read introductory books on Wicca and modern witchcraft.

Learn about the Threefold Law (the belief that energy you put out returns to you threefold).
Honor the God and Goddess as dual divine forces in nature.
Choose Your Style of Practice
Decide if you want to be a solitary practitioner or join a coven.
Research traditional, initiatory paths like Gardnerian or Alexandrian Wicca if you want a structured group.
Explore eclectic Wicca if you prefer to build your own custom mix of practices and study on your own.
Build Your Practice
Celebrate the Wheel of the Year, which includes eight seasonal holidays (Sabbats) and the phases of the moon.
Set up a small personal space or altar with symbols of the four elements (earth, air, fire, water) and representations of the deities.
Practice daily meditation to ground your energy and connect with nature.
Keep a Book of Shadows to record your spells, rituals, and spiritual growth.
Make a Dedication
Perform a self-dedication ritual when you feel ready to officially commit your life to the Wiccan path.
Seek formal initiation if you join a traditional coven that requires a lineage and degree system.

As I harm none, I accept myself as a Wiccan. This, after YEARS of rejecting the "religion", deeming it a softcore version of Witchcraft itself. And it is. However, this frees me up from particular "social" obligations and allows me to create what I create, how I create it.
Work smarter, not harder.
And when you get in the groove, do both.
